As you well know, the recent confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court has triggered a massive anxiety attack for the political left. They are freaking out about her ability to overturn everything they have worked too hard to ruin America with, such as Roe v. Wade and the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare.
And so they have decided, that if given a chance, meaning that if Joe Biden wins the White House, they will rush to pack the court with more justices, ensuring a more left-leaning majority than what Barrett brings to the table.
Even before Barrett was officially confirmed, this idea was put forward as the most likely response from the left. There were few Democrats who seemed hesitant about court-packing, that is unless you consider Biden himself. As with most big decisions or talking points, he shied away from saying anything definitive until the last possible moment.
In fact, he even told Americans earlier this month that we “don’t deserve” to know his opinion on court-packing at the moment. And he continued, saying that “you’ll know my position on court-packing the day after the election.” Of course, he was insinuating that he is going to win.
Previously, and as early as July of last year during the primaries, Biden opposed the idea, even saying that Democrats would “live to rue that day” if they did.
However, as usual, he can’t stick to his word and has since talked about his thoughts on the matter. He told the press that while he wasn’t a “fan” of court-packing, he wouldn’t rule the option out either. Like I said, nothing definitive here.
Nevertheless, the rest of Democratic leadership seems to be all in for it, no matter how difficult it would be. And so rumors are still flying that the left, under the new leadership of would-be President Biden, would have the court packed.
So who would they pick?
Well, according to RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel, Hillary Clinton is on the shortlist of would-be justices.
Now, I know what you are thinking. You’re about to ask why in the world would anyone think she was a good option for a Supreme Court justice.
And the answer is that they wouldn’t – plain and simple. No one is seriously thinking about putting Hillary in that position, or likely any other one for that matter.
At this point, she’s a has-been. No lawmaker in their right mind is going to suggest putting a 73-year-old into the high court, especially after their recent debacle and loss. What they need is someone, or several someone’s, who are young and ambitious, willing to push every leftist talking point possible without regard to anyone but the party.
Besides, they also need someone who is relatively well-liked. And we all know Hillary doesn’t fall into that category. There is enough hatred and distrust in that woman that even jokingly mentioning her for such a position of power would be extremely detrimental to the Democrat party. And they know it.
And that is just the point.
If anyone made up this rumor, and it pretty well has to be fabricated, it was someone seeking to ruin Biden even more. While making the former vice president look like a mumbling dementia patient who has a bit of corruption in his past has made the man a little less trustworthy, it doesn’t bring about a loathing or despicable reaction.
Hillary, on the other hand, most certainly does. And tying the two of them together is a recipe for Biden’s doom. Or at least it would be. I mean, can you imagine where Biden would be if this rumor were even the least bit true?
Biden would be stuck between a rock and a hard place. Either he accepts the idea, causing even more distance between himself and the far left, or he denies it, immediately ticking off all those who desperately and illogically hope for Hillary’s return to power.
But like I said, for all intents and purposes, it’s not true. Too bad…
