Megan Rapinoe is a captain of the US women’s soccer team. She was once considered America’s “golden girl” inspiring millions of young girls all over the world.

Now, Rapinoe is singing a different tune. It’s no longer the “Star Spangled Banner,” which she used to sing with grace and gusto. Now she says,

I’ll probably never put my hand over my heart. I’ll probably never sing the national anthem again.

Back in 2016, the mega women’s soccer star started kneeling during the national anthem. She said she did it because she was protesting against white supremacy and was in full support of the “Black Lives Matter” movement.

Back then, she said,

Colin Kaepernick very much inspired me, and inspired an entire nation, and still does, to actually think about these things.

Later, she stated it was in protest against the treatment of gays in the US. She, along with the 28-member soccer team filed a gender discrimination lawsuit against the United States Soccer Federation over equal pay and equal treatment.

And today…

She says she’s protesting the national anthem as a “F*CK YOU” message to President Trump and all of his racism.

This summer, Rapinoe will be playing and representing the US in the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

She’ll be in front of millions of adoring soccer fans from all over the world. But most importantly, she’ll be in front of the US flag, which is a symbol of the country she calls home.

According to interviews, in her mind, she believes she’s representing a government that represents inequality and injustice, a president she calls “sexist,” “misogynistic,” “small-minded,” “racist” and “not a good person,” and a “backwards rule” federation which she’s currently suing.

Rapinoe is representing the United States on a world stage.

While she may have the right to protest, she should think about one thing…

What were to happen if she did this in Iran?

Here’s a different point of view that may explain more on the situation.

Should Rapinoe be allowed to play in the FIFA World Cup?
