The Democrats within the Senate bombshell the GOP by blocking a bill to ban late-term abortions and would send doctors to prison for the babies who receive no help in surviving an abortion. Are Conservatives the only ones who care about human life?
Apparently, the Democrats do not care about anyone who is in the womb or who has already been born. President Trump has called on the House and Senate to pass laws to protect the babies born and unborn alike. Democrats ruin everything moral!
Every time the bills reach the Senate floor, it gets stopped in its tracks. Senate Republicans viewed this opportunity to close the deal in gaining more votes as this election year is critical to keep the Senate and get back the House of Representatives.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was furious as he attacked the few Democrats who support life. He accused them of giving into “the radical demands of the far left to drown out common sense.” Millions of Americans’ voices have been silenced by the Democrats as they only see their agendas in this issue.
McConnell stated, “It almost defies belief that an entire political party could find cause to object to this basic protection for babies.” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer rebuked McConnell in his reply, which was ultimately off the wall.
Schumer basically claimed McConnel was wasting the Senate floor’s time by saying it was “fake, dishonest and extreme legislation that has nothing to do with improving the lives of ordinary Americans.”
He stated there were already laws that protected babies, which is a Democratic lie and noted the bill would “criminalize” women’s reproductive rights and care along with doctors.
Schumer said, “Putting these already defeated bills up for a show vote is not a good faith attempt to improve the lives of… American women.” He added, “Every single Senate Republican knows that these bills cannot and will not pass. But they’re putting them on the floor anyway to pander to the hard right. And to cover up the fact that they won’t provide good health care for women.”
This idiot doesn’t see or get the whole picture as both of the bills placed on the floor for voting failed as it did not reach the 60 votes needed to pass. It was the Democrats’ way of delaying to prolong the votes. By forcing a vote, it played in favor of the GOP.
The born-alive bill failed with 53-44 votes, and the bill to end abortions after 20 weeks failed at 56-41. This has truly been the most controversial vote for working to overturn Roe versus Wade one step at a time.
Democratic Senator Patty Murray from Washington stated there was no debate for health care or passing laws. She said, “It is really about Republicans’ crass political calculation that they can fire up their far-right base with an all-out war against the constitutionally protected right to safe, legal abortion.”
Republican Senator Ben Sasse from Nebraska stated the bill was not about banning abortions but was to give all babies “a fighting chance whether she’s born in a labor and delivery ward or whether she’s born in an abortion clinic. Senator Sasse is the one who sponsored the bill.
Sasse added the purpose of the bill was to make it a crime for any medical physician to allow a baby born to die when it was supposed to be aborted. He stated, “Are we a country that protects babies that are alive, born outside the womb after having survived a botched abortion?”
Sasse continued, “Or is the United States a country that says it’s okay to just sit back and allow that baby to die? It’s a plain and simple question, and we all know what the right answer is.”
Senator Lindsey Graham sponsored the second bill, which bans abortion when scientists claim an unborn baby feels pain after 20 weeks. Graham feels most Americans support this idea and stated the US is one out of seven countries that still allow the slaughter of the unborn after 20 weeks.
He stated, “I intend to keep pushing for this legislation to become law so the United States can get out of that club.”
Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony List, which is against abortion, stated, “It’s hard to believe that, in 21st century America, the life of a baby more than halfway through pregnancy is considered up for debate, but it’s true.” This statement sums it all up.
