It was a sad day in history as the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France caught fire causing catastrophic damage.
Until now, the historic building has survived the French Revolution, two world wars, terror threats, and erosion.
According to historians, construction of the cathedral started back in 1163 under the watchful eye of King Louis VII.
It was finally completely in 1345 and withstood the test of time for over 850 years.
