While Democrats and Republicans squabble over how to fund the president’s border wall, brave men and women protecting our borders risk their lives every single day.
Southern border towns have been in a state of emergency for many years, and have been waiting for a president willing to fix the problem – until now.
According to the Washington Examiner, the Pentagon announced they may have found a way to fund President Trump’s border barrier. They say they’ve identified $12.8 billion in possible funding that could be used to build the wall.
Last month, Trump declared a national emergency at the border and wants to use $3.6 billion to build the wall he promised during his election campaign. According to the Pentagon report, the list found funding sources that are “in excess of the amount needed.”

Some states have had part of this funding allocated to them, but haven’t spent it yet. This could mean they might see it taken away.
Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., released a report: [20-page spreadsheet]
The report indicates that some states have hundreds of millions in unused Army and Navy construction funds. California, for example, has more than $700 million that hasn’t been spent. Hawaii is another state found to have more than $400 million of unused funding that could help build the border wall.
Trump Admin finally releases its list of at-risk #milcon projects that could be put on the chopping block in order to divert billions to pay for Trump’s ineffective #borderwall. Take a look – military bases in your state could be negatively impacted.

Should states like California and Hawaii have their unused funding taken away to help build the wall?
