Reid Teaches Liberals How to Dumb Down Impeachment for Conservatives

History proves that talents, whether physical or mental, are given quite equally. A brilliant child can be born into an impoverished family just as easily as a wealthy one. And, given the right opportunities and circumstances, that child can use that brilliance to make a better world for themselves as well as others. They can be black or white, rich or poor, liberal or Republican. The fact is their background doesn’t matter. We are equal, even if we aren’t given the same opportunities.

However, not everyone believes this. And as a result, stereotypes are all too often made that only serve to limit humanity even more. These vastly mistaken ideas infer that because you know one small detail of someone’s life, you can then assume plenty of their other attributes. They suddenly become not just a person but part of a much larger group.

And for MSNBC’s Joy Reid, being conservative or a Republican automatically means you are somehow not as smart, not as wealthy, nor as educated as someone who holds liberal views such as herself. In fact, this past week, she basically said as much on her weekend “AM Joy” show.

She said that as Thanksgiving approaches, families will come together, and you will be forced to spend time with people who, no doubt, are conservative. Therefore, you will need to speak to “Uncle Roscoe and Auntie Carol” using smaller words and phrases, in particular about the impeachment process, as they are unlikely to understand otherwise.

I’m not exactly sure where she got those names from, but apparently, they are meant to hold the place of anyone who isn’t as intellectually sound like the liberal sitting at the Thanksgiving table. And who would know better than Reid herself? Based on these remarks, I’m sure she thinks of herself as the smartest individual in any room.

She said, “We are just over two weeks away from one of the most beloved American food holidays.” And she continued, “Thanksgiving, where problematic actual history meets delicious cuisine, and many will be heading home to spend time with family and friends, eat a little too much and perhaps engage in a dreaded, contentious political debate with your cranky Uncle Roscoe when he starts yelling, ‘Read the transcript!’ at the dinner table between bites of turkey and pumpkin pie.”

Then she proceeded to give liberals instructions on how to handle such a situation.

Reid said, “But fear not! We here at AM Joy are going to help you get through it all by telling you everything you need to understand about impeachment.”

Firstly, if liberals are so smart, why do they need help on figuring out to talk to their conservative relatives?

“Here’s a hint: Do not worry about trying to explain the cast of characters… or the very overused term, ‘quid pro quo.’” She then said, “Most people can’t say it, spell it or understand it.”

Only we can, and so can anyone who has watched or listened to a mere five minutes of what is going on in Washington currently.

But she continues, “What we’re actually talking about here is not a pithy Latin phrase. It’s something a lot simpler – bribery and extortion.”

“Beyond the whistleblower and over 100 hours of testimony backing up that fact, Donald Trump admitted to it, and even released edited notes from his call with the Ukrainian president – which, by the way, is not a transcript – that actually prove he did it.”

Then she iced the cake by saying, “Even Uncle Roscoe and Auntie Carol ought to understand that.”

Well, sure. If they honestly have bought into those lies, then this should be no problem for them. However, just because you dumb something down doesn’t mean that it is accurate or that it should be agreed with.

It’s incredible to me how many elitists think that way. They simply can’t begin to fathom how anybody could or would disagree with them if the concept is understood.

Essentially, they are saying, “Look, you the president of the United States, the one who lives in the White House and makes all the rules? Well, he did something really bad. Not like murder bad, but bad. So, we need to kick him out, right? I win.”

Only that’s not how it works, at least for those who actually understand the truth and what’s going on. And those who believe it is are in for a rude awakening.
