Cabot Phillips of Campus Reform visited a college campus to ask students if they’re “proud to be an American.”
The Daily Wire reported on a new Gallup Poll that found that the percentage of people describing themselves as “extremely proud” hit a new low since the poll started asking that question dating back to 2001.
It’s no surprise the low number was mostly from Democrats and the younger generation.
The Gallup poll reported,
Only 45% of respondents said they were “extremely proud to be American.” Unsurprisingly, only 22% of respondents claiming they were Democrats agreed with that sentiment as opposed to a whopping 76% of Republicans. 41% of independents said they were “extremely proud.”
Only a slight difference was found between men and women; 48% of men said they were “extremely proud” while 43% of women agreed. But an enormous chasm separated older respondents from younger ones; 63% of adults over 65 agreed they felt “extremely proud” while only 24% of those between 18 and 29 agreed.
While it may come as no surprise that many Democrats and younger Americans feel this way about the country, there were many who stated they were grateful to be Americans.
Here’s the video by Campus Reform:
America may have her problems but it’s still the greatest country in the world.
It’s things like the patriotism of military volunteers and the unity of the country, especially when times get tough, that make America great.
Think about this…
We live in a country where even the HATERS won’t leave!
THAT’S HOW GREAT AMERICA IS!
From our family to yours, we wish you a safe and happy Independence Day.
God Bless America!
Are you a proud American?
