Watch: Penguins at Chicago Aquarium Go on a Field Trip!

Everywhere people are being told to stay home and do not meet together in groups greater than 10 people. This has led many to rethink their normal routines for their day. But not all has been bad as families have discovered that they are closer now more than ever since they have spent more time together. Even animals are having a reprieve as people have been kept away. At the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, the penguins are being allowed to take over.

The penguins are on the loose and no one is going to stop them. The staff and trainers at the aquarium have allowed Wellington, Edward, and Annie to have free access to all the exhibits and other animals in the place. Some animals have a routine that involves other humans. They feed off of the crowd’s response to tricks.

The virus has taken the people away so the animals need something else. The Shedd Aquarium has stated, “Without guests in the building, caretakers are getting creative in how they provide enrichment to animals – introducing new experiences, activities, foods and more to keep them active, encourage them to explore, problem-solve and express natural behaviors.”

The penguins are just curious as kids are as they roam around. Each penguin is showing that they have their favorite areas. Shedd Aquarium has said that “Wellington seemed most interested in the fishes in Amazon Rising!  The black-barred silver dollars also seemed interested in their unusual visitor.” They are being taken around to see the other animals. This has let them get used to the other attractions.

The staff is also using the creative measure to keep fans of the aquarium interested in what is going on. What they are finding is that the public is very curious about their activities and other adventures that they get to go on.

This is just one of many ways that the Shedd Aquarium is appealing to the public to try to help them through the lack of things for everyone to do. In a way, the penguins are providing help to people that are being told to stay at home.

It has also been discovered that two of the penguins are going to be building their nest soon. It is time for them to repopulate the penguin room. The decision to allow the penguins to move around the facility is strange to some people.

This may explain the fascination that the public is having with the story. The caregivers of the animals have their work cut out for them as they have to keep the animals moving to keep them interested in their environment and other animals.

One fan of the penguins stated that they should be allowed to interact with the otters. The person was looking for some real entertainment. There is no doubt that the web would explode with interest as more people would flood the website to view more of the adventures that the penguins get to go on.

People are going to have to get creative in the coming days as they are forced to find other ways to entertain themselves. The more businesses are forced to close meetings and keep people away the more anxious that some will have for entertainment.

The aquarium is closed like many other public places until the end of the month. Their reasoning is to keep the virus from running through the place and infecting all the visitors.

President Trump is recommending under the guidance of the CDC that all businesses and public organizations limit the number of times they meet and get together. The idea is the social distancing of people. This keeps them from coming into infectious contact with one another. All around the country public places are being closed and people are simply staying home.

At some point, they will need to get out or find ways to entertain themselves. The penguins are at least doing their part and keeping people entertained over the internet. When things get back to normal they will be the star attraction as people come and express their thanks to the staff and animals of the aquarium.
